Drop Squad Kitchen is a small boutique style, family driven restaurant/cafe located on the Riverfront in Wilmington, DE opened in 2012. Previously it was Molly’s Ice Cream Shop. This restaurant features fresh made to order vegan soul food, sweet treats, and smoothies all of which are 100% plant based.
I found Drop Squad Kitchen on Instagram (good ole’ IG, lol) and told myself I was going to step out of my comfort zone and try it. I am the farthest from vegan as one could get but I’m always open to trying new things.
With that said, I stopped in and tried The Most Def and the O.M.G. Shake (pictured above). I enjoyed the OMG shake as it was very lite as far as taste. I wish the consistency of it was a little on the thicker side but still good nonetheless. The flavors of The Mos Def was good, I personally wasn’t a fan of the veggie dog itself, HOWEVER , I plan to go back to try the V-steak as that was my initial reason for going but it was not on the menu when I went. Assuming that it is only available on certain days—the disappointment.
I’m not convinced to go vegan but I have not been deterred from trying something else. I would definitely recommend giving this place a go–even if its only once.
Again, you can find DSK on the riverfront overlooking the Christiana River. Beware that the restaurant is small & although seating is limited on the inside they do have a small patio to enjoy the sites around. Open 7 days a week.
